'Telekomunikacja Polska starts school of safer internet'

Nov 19, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) -- On 18 November, Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) launched a joint internet safety project with the foundation Kidprotect. The programme aims to show kids and adults how to wisely and safely use the internet and the integration of schools in the system for e-security. Teachers and parents often do not know how to respond to inappropriate content, with whom the child is in contact over the internet. The School of the safer internet will teach how to prevent data leakage, cybercrime or online harassment. Each school in Poland can gain knowledge and prepare a certificate attesting to their teachers to learn the safe use of the web. The certificate Safer Internet School shall be awarded to a school that constantly ensures safety of students on the internet, provides them with substantive support and assistance. The foundation Kidprotect will continue to cooperate with schools. All the requirements for obtaining the certificate can be found on the web page. The project shall be realized under the patronage of the Minister of Education, Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Treatment and Ombudsman for Children. The project partners are Microsoft, F-Secure, Allegro, Our Class, Association of Producers and Distributors of Entertainment Software and the agencies ZOOM and Bitartis.
