'Synterra launches backbone interconnecting Omsk, Novosibirsk'


(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Russian telecommunications operator Synterra has completed construction of the fibre optic backbone interconnecting Omsk and Novosibirsk cities. The length of the backbone is 920 kilometres. DWDM technology has been used for the backbone, initial capacity totals 20 Gbps. The backbone will become an alternative route for 50 Gbps capacity backbone built by Synterra in August.
