President Ben Ali receives new congratulatory messages(Agency Tunis Afrique Press Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CARTHAGE, Nov. 17, 2009 (TAP) - President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali received from representatives of civil society new messages in which they extend sincere congratulations on his brilliant victory in the October 25 presidential elections, a success that testifies once again to the Tunisian people's spontaneous adherence to his new electoral platform "Together, We Meet Challenges." Signees of these messages express satisfaction at the ambitious objectives set by this new presidential programme, reasserting will to contribute to their materialisation in order to help Tunisia join the developed countries' ranks. They also voice pride at the speech delivered by the President of the Republic on the occasion of his oath-taking, pointing out that that speech came to reassert the national tenets, including notably exclusive allegiance to Tunisia, preservation of Tunisian citizen's security and dignity, defence of national sovereignty and autonomy of its decision-making and consolidation of the comprehensive reform process Tunisia is living through, to remain forever glorious, free and invulnerable. Besides, signees of these messages affirm their rejection of all forms of interference with the country's affairs and their entire adherence to President Ben Ali's civilisation project, denouncing some people's attempts to tarnish Tunisia's image and cast doubt about its choices and achievements. They express commitment to face up to this morally and politically reprehensible behaviour.
