[November 17, 2009] Garmin launches next generation multi-function displays with Garmin G Motion technology Tweet Nov 17, 2009 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Satellite navigation company Garmin Ltd's (NASDAQ:GRMN) unit Garmin International Inc has launched its next generation large-format multi-function displays, the GPSMAP 6000 and GPSMAP 7000 series with Garmin G Motion technology, the company disclosed on Monday. These new chart plotters are a breakthrough in speed, clarity, smooth map panning and zooming with almost seamless graphical updating in all dimensions. It feature low-level backlight display that dims to 0.5 nits as well as a backlit keypad that can be used in low-light conditions. The GPSMAP 7x15 series has a 15-inch diagonal XGA (1024 x 768 pixel) sunlight readable touch screen display in two models: the GPSMAP 7015 with a worldwide satellite imagery base map; and the GPSMAP 7215 with pre-loaded detailed US coastal and Explorer Charts for the Bahamas. Both models have a PC monitor input as well as four composite video inputs for multimedia use and all models are optional wireless remote and a wireless mouse compatible for flexibility. The GPSMAP 6x12 series features a traditional soft-key interface with an alphanumeric keypad and a 12-inch diagonal XGA (1024 x 768 pixel) sunlight readable display and the above mentioned features.
