The CRTC has ruled that Globalive, under the brand name WIND Mobile, isn't Canadian operated and controlled. But CEO Anthony Lacavera says the CRTC has given Globalive some hope, ruling that major carriers Rogers (TSX:RCI.B), Bell (TSX:BCE) and Telus (TSX:T) must continue to co-operate in the testing of its network with theirs as long as its proposed wireless carrier status hasn't been revoked. Lacavera says he's not giving up on getting into the mobile phone business. Industry Minister Tony Clement is reviewing the CRTC decision. There have been reports that Rogers and new player DAVE Wireless are interested in Globalive's wireless spectrum if it becomes available. (The Canadian Press) (c) 2009 The Canadian Press |
