[November 17, 2009] Harris acquires Patriot Technologies Tweet Nov 17, 2009 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- Communications and IT company Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS) said on Monday that it has acquired privately Patriot Technologies LLC, for an undisclosed sum. Patriot is a provider of Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare IT, imaging and enterprise software solutions. This acquisition reportedly extends Harris Corporation's presence in the federal government healthcare IT market. Harris is now positioned to provide comprehensive interoperability solutions that address the national priority of VA and Military Health System enterprise integration. With the completion of the acquisition, Patriot will become part of the Harris Healthcare Solutions business unit, led by Jim Traficant, vice president.
