[November 17, 2009] Zhone's MXK Platform Chosen by Etisalat for Next Generation GPON Services Tweet Nov 16, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Zhone Technologies, Inc., a company specializing in multi-service access solutions, announced that Etisalat, an integrated service provider in the Middle East, has selected Zhone's new MXK intelligent terabit access concentrator for its FTTx network expansion. Side by side with solutions provided by two other suppliers, the company said Etisalat will deploy Zhone's MXK Intelligent Terabit Access Concentrator with zNID optical network terminals to business and residential customers in a network expansion throughout the United Arab Emirates. Etisalat's plans include GPON installations to provide broadband and a full suite of consumer voice and enhanced video services to its residential subscribers.
