Pctel CEO Named to Illinois Governor's Economic Recovery Commission

Nov 17, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Pctel, a provider of propagation and wireless network optimization solutions, announced that its Chairman and CEO, Marty Singer, is one of 35 professionals named by Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn to the newly-created state Economic Recovery Commission.

Upon forming the panel, Gov. Quinn said, "The Economic Recovery Commission will help develop strategies to improve the state's economic climate. It will explore realistic and effective ways to create jobs, strengthen Illinois' business base, and help plan our state's long-term economic revival. I look forward to receiving its counsel and assistance." "It is a great honor and a responsibility I take very seriously," said Marty Singer. "Our task will be to review the strategies and initiatives that Illinois and other states have taken to improve economic conditions and create jobs today and in the future in Illinois." The Commission is charged with providing guidance for dealing with the current economic downturn and preparing plans to ensure long-term health and prosperity. Topic areas include infrastructure, innovation, sustainability, global markets, education, and government. For each of these areas, the Commission will review Illinois' current strategies and policies, evaluate successful programs and initiatives from other states and countries, and suggest new ideas to drive job creation and economic recovery for Illinois.

The Commission will submit a report outlining its findings and recommendations to Gov. Quinn on or before March 31, 2010.
