According to the companies, Route Optimizer is an online service based on algorithms that enables businesses to plan optimal routes for single vehicles or whole fleets. Working with Tele Atlas, a provider of digital maps and content for navigation and location-based solutions, the AA delivers the online service from Postcode Anywhere to users in the enterprise and fleet sectors. Tele Atlas Logistics is a specialized digital map database designed for fleet owners and operators who manage trucks and other road-restricted vehicles, as well as application developers who serve this market. Commercial vehicles face a number of road restrictions based on their height, length, weight, number of axles and cargo type, including hazardous materials. Tele Atlas Logistics enables Route Optimizer to help provide routes that are designed for commercial vehicles and ultimately help these vehicles better identify and avoid situations that may cause damage to the vehicle or infrastructure.
