To that end, the company announced its acquisition of licensed spectrum and its new management team as HiBeam prepares for its launch into multiple markets. New Licensed Spectrum Areas Focusing on un-served and underserved markets, HiBeam announced today that it has licensed 2.5 GHz spectrum in roughly 35-mile circles around the following US markets: Texarkana, AR and Texarkana, TX Peoria, IL Mt. Vernon, IL Topeka, KS Joplin, MO Combined, the spectrum allows HiBeam to potentially serve a population of 541,693 households and businesses that currently do not have the opportunity to enjoy affordable and easy-to-use voice and Internet services. HiBeam's new spectrum represents more than 47,436,873 million MHz/pops of spectrum availability. These leases position HiBeam to become one of the larger operational spectrum holders in the country. Management Team HiBeam also announced its new management team: G. Michael Cassity - Chief Executive Officer. Cassity is a former BellSouth executive officer and the former president and COO of NuVox (News - Alert) (www.nuvox.com). Cassity most recently served as Chief Integration Officer for Telepacific Communications (www.telepacific.com) during its acquisition and integration of key assets of MPower Communications. J. Keith Coker - Chief Technology Officer. Coker most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at NuVox where he designed a network that brought services that were once designated solely for large enterprises to the small to medium business market. More recently, he managed the strategic shift from traditional switched circuit telephony to a 100% voice over Internet protocol system. Christopher J. Benyo - Chief Customer Operations Officer. Prior to joining HiBeam, Benyo served as Executive Vice President, Sales & Marketing for NuVox where he managed complex product introductions in the IP networking space as well as a 650-member multi-channel sales force. His background includes stints in the software industry as well as sales and marketing assignments for BellSouth and Cable & Wireless (News - Alert), Inc. Chip Gaskins - VP, Corporate Development and Spectrum Planning. Gaskins brings experience and a proven track record in delivering wireless broadband to underserved communities. Cerciello served as General Manager/Business Development for DigitalBridge Communications before joining the HiBeam team. Marguerite (Peggy) Forrest - Administrative and Human Resources Officer. Forrest has extensive management experience in both the public and private sector and has served as the senior officer for corporate administration in three telecom start-ups.
