Intelsat signs distribution agreement with CSC/DVSNov 13, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Intelsat, a provider of fixed satellite services, has signed a multi-year distribution agreement with Corporate Satellite Communications for Intelsat's Network Broadband Global Maritime service. Intelsat's Network Broadband Global Maritime service, part of Intelsat's GlobalConnex portfolio of services, utilizes C-band capacity provided via three ocean-region satellites: Intelsat 602, Intelsat 707 and Intelsat 906. Intelsat has said that its terrestrial network, which includes hubs at Fuchsstadt, Germany, and Riverside, California, completes its global network. Corporate Satellite Communications's (CSC/DVS) customers will benefit from the Intelsat Network Broadband Global Maritime service's always-on broadband connection and automatic beam switching technology, Intelsat added. Jay Yass, vice president of network services at Intelsat, said: "Our customers serving the maritime industry are seeking a global and affordable broadband solution that is able to handle bandwidth-intensive advanced IP applications while at sea.
