[November 13, 2009] Sigma Designs completes CopperGate buyout Tweet (M&A Navigator Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US integrated system-on-chip (SoC) solutions provider Sigma Designs (NASDAQ:SIGM) announced on Thursday it has finalised the acquisition of Tel Aviv-headquartered chipset maker CopperGate Communications Ltd. The combination of Sigma and CopperGate would create a "leading provider of networked home entertainment semiconductor solutions," Sigma's chief executive Thinh Tran said. As part of the deal, initially announced on 13 October, Sigma has acquired all outstanding shares of CopperGate for USD116m (EUR77m) in cash and 3.9 million newly issued Sigma shares.
