BRIEF: Travelers can get free Wi-FiNov 11, 2009 (Houston Chronicle - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Google is footing the bill for free Wi-Fi access in 47 U.S. airports this holiday season. . Houston's Hobby and Bush Intercontinental are among the airports where Google will provide free Wi-Fi access through Jan. 15. It will also cover wireless Internet access charges on all Virgin America flights. Google will give those who use the Wi-Fi the option of donating to one of three charities: Engineers Without Borders, the One Economy Corporation or the Climate Savers Computing Initiative. Google will match donations up to $250,000. Besides those in Houston, the airports are in cities such as Austin, San Antonio, Boston, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, San Diego and St. Louis. Most of the biggest airports are not participating, including those in the New York area, Los Angeles, Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
