BRIEF: Armed robbers steal cell phone, $3 from Boynton man

Nov 06, 2009 (Sun Sentinel - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Boynton Beach - A teenager was robbed of his cell phone and $3 after a robber stuck a gun to his head about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of Northeast 13th Avenue, police said.

The victim, 18, was approached by two men in front of his home, one armed with a silver revolver. While the armed man held the gun to his head, the other man began searching the victim's pockets, police said. When the victim fought back, the robbers beat him, then stole his money and cell phone.

The victim waited 40 minutes before calling 911, police said, so that he could speak with his family.

The robbers escaped.
