South Jersey Healthcare selects Mimosa NearPoint archiving solution

Nov 05, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Mimosa Systems, a provider of email archiving, file archiving, and SharePoint archiving solutions, has said that South Jersey Healthcare has selected the Mimosa NearPoint archiving solution for data protection and disaster recovery of email data.

South Jersey Healthcare (SJH) will leverage Mimosa's unified archiving solution as part of the organization's archiving strategy to facilitate Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act requirements.

According to Mimosa Systems, Mimosa NearPoint features a unique architecture does not require journaling or any agents on either the exchange server or user desktops. It has several features that will expedite the eDiscovery process for SJH by leveraging complete content capture. These features include individual item-level legal holds, conversation and proximity analysis, and an intuitive search within a search.

Using NearPoint, SJH's IT staff can manage offline email contained in PST files. The NearPoint PST Archiving Option crawls and uploads PST files to the NearPoint archive, where they are centrally managed and searched for email discovery.

Andrew Gahm, systems and security engineer at SJH, said: "Before we implemented Mimosa NearPoint we faced very slow email mailbox restore times. MAPI backup processes were slowing us down and we had no features to perform needed searching, PST archiving, or eDiscovery. NearPoint cuts out many of the time consuming steps required for email recovery so we can perform operational recoveries much more quickly." http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
