[November 04, 2009] Silver Peak's NX appliances chosen by Charter Bank Tweet (Corporate IT Update Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) US-based community bank Charter Bank has selected Silver Peak's NX appliances to optimise the performance of Dell EqualLogic replication across the company's WAN, the provider of Wide Area Network (WAN) optimisation said on Wednesday. No financial details were disclosed. According to the company, Silver Peak's WAN optimisation solution has enabled Charter Bank to reduce the amount of time required to protect key traffic across the WAN, while avoiding costly WAN bandwidth upgrades. Silver Peak employs real-time network optimisation techniques to improve application performance across the WAN while lowering IT operational costs. These techniques include: Network Acceleration to overcome WAN latency; Network Integrity to correct packet delivery issues and intelligently allocate WAN resources; and Network Memory to increase WAN bandwidth utilisation.
