[October 22, 2009] NORTHCOM contracts for secure workstations Tweet (United Press International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) U.S. Northern Command has selected ClearCube Technology to support a command-and-control center with its workstations to help secure computing. U.S. company ClearCube announced it has been selected by NORTHCOM for its fiber optic connected blade workstations and user ports as part of an ongoing effort to reduce security threats at mission-critical personal computers. The ClearCube blade workstations, expected to be integrated at NORTHCOM's command-and-control center, is installed a secure data centers instead of on a computer desktop, which company officials say increases security. "Secure computing has always been an inherent benefit of our model for delivering high performance computing for command and control centers," Randy Printz, ClearCube chief executive officer, said in a statement. "We're excited to continue to build our relationship with NORTHCOM and utilize their requirements as a catalyst for driving."
