Alcatel-Lucent names head of Middle East regionOct 20, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Telecom equipment company Alcatel-Lucent has appointed Nicolas Bouverot as vice president and head of its business in the Middle East region, effective October 1. He succeeds Mazen Hamadallah who has decided to leave the company. Prior to his new role, Nicolas served as the company's Global Account Director for Etisalat. He will report to Vincenzo Nesci, president of Alcatel-Lucent in Middle East and Africa (MEA). He joined Alcatel-Lucent in 1991 and has held several senior positions in management, sales and business development in Europe, East and Southeast Asia. Nesci said: "Nicolas is a seasoned executive with deep industry experience, strong customer relationship and a proven track record of helping Alcatel-Lucent expand its footprint in the Middle East. I am confident that his dynamism will sustain Alcatel-Lucent's expansion in the region." Earlier this month, Alcatel-Lucent appointed Erwin Teufner as chief technical officer and board member of Alcatel-Lucent Austria, and Amr El Leithy as president of the company's MEA region.
