Vinaphone launches 3G network with Motorola network infrastructureOct 13, 2009 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Motorola Inc (NYSE:MOT) announced Tuesday that Vinaphone, a subsidiary of Viet Nam Posts and Telecommunications (VNPT) Group, has launched a 3G service in Vietnam using network infrastructure based on equipment from Motorola's Home and Networks Mobility business. The company said that the Vinaphone network was upgraded to the 3G standard in just two months from the signing of the contract. The new network provides advanced high-speed mobile data services in northern Vietnam including key areas of the capital city, Hanoi. The service launch builds on the success of Motorola's 2G network deployment for Vinaphone and will bring new media mobility experiences to Vinaphone's customers.
