Mediterranean Smart Cards Company (MSCC) is continuing its expansion across the region by signing an agreement with National Commercial Bank of Libya to provide issuing, ATM and POS support for its 70 branches. This most recent agreement for MSCC aligns with the company's vision to export Egypt's technological expertise and industry know-how internationally, showcasing the competitiveness and capability of the Egyptian market.

The agreement was signed on September 27 in Tripoli, Libya between MSCC Managing Director Hoda Shoukry and Said Awad Rashwan, General Manager, National Commercial Bank of Libya. Also present at the signing for the bank were Dr. Fawzy Abu Khozam, IT Division Director; and Osama Al Aidy, Assistant to the General Manager. The bank has a current client base of approximately 550,000 and an ATM network of 30 machines across Libya with plans to expand to 100 ATMs by 2010.

"Libya is a healthy market with vast potential in the electronic payment industry," said Hoda Shoukry, Managing Director, MSCC. "National Commercial Bank of Libya is seen to be in the right position to move the industry forward. At MSCC, we strive to work with clients who are market leaders and who recognize our ability to adapt to the needs of the local market. As a processing partner, our work is more than providing reliable, technologically advanced services; it's about customizing our services to the unique demands of our clients whether they operate in Tripoli or Tanzania."   The agreement between MSCC and National Commercial Bank of Libya follows the recent announcement of MSCC's landmark agreement to provide smart card processing and operational support services to 40 banks across Africa over the coming 3 years. These agreements are in line with MSCC's business strategy to provide industry expertise to clients on an international scale.
