i2Telecom International Changes Name to Geos Communications

Oct 08, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- i2Telecom International, a developer of patented mobile applications and services, announced it has changed its name to Geos Communications.

The move follows what i2Telecom called its transition from a company focused on the development of intellectual property to one focused on operations, leveraging the patented technology it has created.

Now headquartered in Southlake, Texas, Geos Communications currently offers international phone calls through its patent pending MyGlobalTalk solution. The company said that this solution enables the company to help individuals and enterprise users worldwide reduce the cost of communicating over traditional landline phones, mobile phones and personal computers.

Geos reported that features of MyGlobalTalk include: - Simple, friendly mobile application for BlackBerry, iPhone, Android, Symbian & Windows Mobile - No contract, subscription or activation fees - Consumer pre-pay (for individual users), eliminating bad debt exposure - Secure network, designed for interoperability and scalability - Least-cost/high-quality Internet telephony-based international telephone calls from a mobile phone, landline or PC/netbook "This is a significant step in our evolution," said Andy Berman, the company's Chief Executive Officer. "We have developed an exceptional intellectual property portfolio. We have leading-edge products that produce true value for our customers, and we have a world-class management team who have put into place clearly defined goals and proven strategies for moving our company forward. The name change was the final piece of the puzzle to signify the completion of one phase of this process, and the beginning of another." Along with the company headquarters moving from Atlanta, GA to Southlake, TX, the company's ticker symbol is changing from ITUI to GCMI. Additionally, a reverse 1:10 stock split was made effective May 14, by the company's board of directors and shareholders and is now effective in the trading market.
