[October 10, 2009] GigOptix Wins $750K DARPA SBIR Contract Tweet Oct 08, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- GigOptix, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Phase II Small Business Innovation Research contract in the amount of $749,895.00 to design and fabricate polymer devices after completion of Phase I milestones. "With DARPA's confidence in our capabilities to develop electro-optic polymer materials, we are looking forward to continuing our work with them," said Dr. Raluca Dinu, Vice President and General Manager of GigOptix-Bothell. "The final end product of the contract will be to economically produce high bandwidth, small chip, stable, low voltage, low loss, ultra linear polymer directional coupler modulators. To reach that objective, there is a lot of work to be done, but we are up to the job and feel confident that we can accomplish the tasks set before us." GigOptix is a fabless manufacturer of electronic engines for the optically connected digital world.
