Black Box Announed Acquistion Of Quanta Systems (BBOX)

Oct 05, 2009 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) -- 10/5/2009 - Black Box Corp. (NASDAQ:BBOX) announced Monday the acquisition of Quanta Systems, LLC. Quanta has an active customer base that includes various United States Department of Defense and government agency accounts. Black Box acquired the company from CompuDyne Corp, which is a portfolio company of The Gores Group, a private equity fund in Los Angeles. Sr. Vice President and GM for Black Box's Federal Division Jeff Murray said, "Quanta's security and command center solutions combined with Black Box's world-class infrastructure solutions will provide our worldwide Federal customers distinct advantages and value. We are very excited to have the added capabilities that Quanta offers, which will give us a distinct competitive advantage in the Federal market, as we continue to evolve and expand our Federal programs."
