Man charged with robbing motorist at gunpointSEBRING, Oct 03, 2009 (Highlands Today - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Sebring man remained in jail Friday under a $200,000 bond after police say he got into a another man's car and robbed him at gunpoint. Latiny Turner, 25, of 4717 Minerva St., Sebring, was arrested Wednesday and charged with armed robbery and burglary with assault or battery, both first-degree felonies. The victim told police he was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Palm Boulevard and First Street when a man wearing all black clothing got into the car and pointed a gun at the driver's face. "Turner told (the victim) to turn the vehicle and turn the vehicle lights off, which he did," Sebring Police Officer Sean Bueford wrote in his arrest report. "Turner then tells (the victim), 'Gimme your money.'" The suspect reached into the driver's right front pocket and took the wallet before having the victim get out of the car. Turner then reportedly started going through the man's pockets, while keeping the gun pointed at his face and neck. As Turner was robbing him, the driver looked into his eyes and recognized the suspect as "Tiny." Turner then cocked the firearm, pushed the victim into the vehicle and told him to get out of there, the report stated. Turner was spotted by police running northbound on Palm Boulevard before being arrested. The victim was brought to the area and positively identified Turner as the man who robbed him, according to the report.
