MegaPath Bolsters Business Ethernet Service

Oct 01, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MegaPath, Inc., a provider of managed IP data, voice, and security services in North America, announced that the company has extended the reach of its Business Ethernet service (Ethernet over Copper) throughout 32 markets and over 300 central offices.

The company said it has also added 3.0 and 5.0 megabits per second (Mbps) options, delivering calable connectivity for small-to-medium sized businesses. Business Ethernet gives companies the ability to support bandwidth intensive applications and transfer multimedia content and large data files between locations and remote workers.

In March 2009, Dennemeyer & Co, an intellectual property management services, software and consulting company, upgraded its MegaPath T1 service to Business Ethernet. Since the upgrade, Dennemeyer has seen improved performance for its offices across the country and increased reliability for data intensive applications. The end result is increased productivity for Dennemeyer's employees, while enabling the company to contain its connectivity costs.

"Our work with our clients requires us to generate huge amounts of confidential and time sensitive data, and we need to be confident that it is transferred quickly and securely to other offices. With offices around the globe, we required a certain level of reassurance that information would get to where it needed to go in a timely manner," said Jay Mohney, Senior IT Infrastructure Manager, Dennemeyer & Co., LLC. "As a MegaPath customer since 2004, we had complete confidence in upgrading to the Business Ethernet service. The feedback across our offices has been overwhelmingly positive. With no downtime, easy maintenance and a stable speed, it makes for a lot of satisfied employees worldwide." MegaPath said its Business Ethernet provides a scalable and affordable option to address an organization's bandwidth requirements. Available in three speeds, 3.0, 5.0 and 10 Mbps, businesses can select the connection speed that meets their needs.

"MegaPath's Business Ethernet is an ideal option for companies that are looking for a high speed solution that doesn't break the bank," said Beth Tyebjee, SVP of Product Management and Project Management at MegaPath. "Dennemeyer is a perfect example of a growing firm that recognized the need for more bandwidth. By starting off with one connection and upgrading to a higher speed, the firm is able to optimize the performance and reliability of its data communications to meet its growing client requirements." Dennemeyer & Co is a resource for Global Intellectual Property management including Trademark Renewals, Patent Annuities, Intellectual Property Consulting, and Intellectual Asset Management Software.
