Sybase and Siemens partner on workforce mobilitySep 28, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Enterprise and mobile software provider Sybase and Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) have announced a partnership to provide customers with a fully integrated mobile and fixed line voice and data solution that supports the management of a range of devices through a completely heterogeneous environment. The new solution integrates Sybase's Afaria mobile device management capabilities with SEN's HiPath MobileConnect V2.3 enterprise solution that seamlessly unifies fixed enterprise VoIP, VoWLAN and cellular mobility. The companies said the integration enables businesses to vastly simplify the management of a diversified communications infrastructure. Terry Stepien, president of Sybase iAnywhere, said: "Enterprise mobility plays such a significant role in today's personal and professional environments that customers require the highest level of support from proven experts. Sybase and Siemens are committed to helping enterprises overcome the management challenges that accompany rapidly emerging mobile technologies, including collaboration and unified communications, while decreasing operational costs." Earlier this month Sybase and Verizon announced an alliance to enable multinational companies to manage the deployment and support of mobile workers. In March the company formed a partnership with SAP to provide SAP Business Suite software for iPhone, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry, and other mobile devices. http://www.datamonitor.com Republication or redistribution, including by framing or similar means, is expressly prohibited without prior written consent.
