[September 23, 2009] EmFinders secures strategic investment from TruePosition Tweet Sep 23, 2009 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) -- Emergency location services provider EmFinders announced on Wednesday it has secured a strategic investment from TruePosition Inc, who will assume a controlling interest in the company. Funding will support the initial launch, sales efforts and distribution of the EmFinders EmseeQ device and service. No other financial details were disclosed. The company said the EmseeQ is a bracelet device designed to be worn by individuals who tend to wander and may become lost, including those with Alzheimer's disease, autism and other cognitive or developmental disabilities. The device is remotely activated and works with 9-1-1 call centres to report the location of wandering individuals in emergency situations. The device can identify the location of missing individuals, both indoors and outdoors, using U-TDOA, a cellular telephone location technology provided by TruePosition that works with 9-1-1 emergency response systems. TruePosition is a provider of location determination and intelligence solutions and a subsidiary of Liberty Media Corporation.
