Altera Honored by China Electronics News

Sep 21, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Altera announced it received the "2009 FPGA Best Market Performance Award in the China Telecommunication Market" from China Electronics News (CEN).

The award was given at the 2009 China FPGA Industry Development Forum held in Chengdu, China on August 28, and recognizes Altera's contributions to China's telecommunication market.

The winner of this award is determined by a survey of major telecommunication suppliers in China by the CEN editorial team and the research of the market research company iSuppli, as well as a public online poll on CEN's website. The results of the research by CEN and iSuppli showed Altera as the number-one FPGA vendor in China's telecommunication market.

"Altera has a deep understanding of the needs of the telecommunication market and provides the market with leading products and technologies," said Ren Aiqing, deputy editor-in-chief, China Electronics News. "Altera's early and continuous investment in providing solutions for TD-SCDMA and various OFDMA-MIMOs has helped major China equipment suppliers proceed smoothly from 3G to LTE with their products. Additionally, Altera's industry-first 40-nm devices provided a good balance of integrated features, outstanding performance and its unique Programmable Power Technology, which helped telecommunication suppliers meet their performance, power and cost targets." "We are honored to receive this award and the recognition for enabling our customers to rapidly innovate and win in their markets," said Vince Hu, vice president product and corporate marketing, Altera. "We will continue to work closely with our customers to develop new innovative solutions that further enable them to deliver next-generation services and products."
