Agito deploys router to aid in-building use of phones at Hertfordshire college(Corporate IT Update Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mobility specialist Agito Networks Inc announced today that its Agito RoamAnywhere Mobility Router has been deployed in a new development at Hertford Regional College (HRC), a large further education college in Hertfordshire, UK, to allow its mobile staff use of their mobile handsets while inside the new development. Based in Broxbourne and Ware just north of London, HRC was formed from the merger of Ware College and East Herts College in the early 1990s. Since then, HRC has grown in size, currently employing 900 staff and serving more than 12,000 full and part-time students. A new 4 story building, that is part of the USD140m development project currently underway, offers facilities that are 'state of the art', but the building materials used for construction do not allow standard mobile network coverage inside the building. Agito partner Convergis suggested and installed the RoanAnywhere Router to allow the college staff to use their Nokia handsets to access the T-Mobile network. As an added benefit, the college estimates that the USD6,000 in telephony charges that it used to spend each month will be reduced by around 50%.
