eglue solution used by Mexicana to generate additional revenues from excess baggageSep 15, 2009 (AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION via COMTEX) -- Software provider eglue announced on Monday that Mexicana Airlines has deployed a solution based on the eglue InterAct Suite which helps the carrier to generate additional revenue while customers check-in at airports. The solution has been installed at eight airports in Mexico and Guatemala, with Mexicana reportedly planning to implement it at 1,100 Mexicana check-in positions at over 25 airports, both in Mexico and in other countries. eglue InterAct is part of Mexicana's new Baggage Manager solution, which calculates fees for excess baggage in real time and automates the billing and collection process at airport check-in. According to eglue, Mexicana's Baggage Manager solution has helped the airline to reduce check-in from 15 minutes to two minutes in some cases for customers with excess baggage.
