Oracle and Israeli Chief Scientist's Office Invest in ComAbility

HERZLIYA, Israel, August 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Oracle has invested in the Israeli startup ComAbility (http://www.comability.com/), as part of a joint agreement between the Oracle Excellence Center for Startups, ISVs and OEMS and the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist (OCS) to promote local startups. ComAbility develops a unified subscriber and services platform that manages subscribers and premium services for the telecom and Internet service provider (SP) market.

The joint project calls for co-developing a distributed data session repository, using ComAbility's patent-pending neXus architecture over the Oracle database. This repository serves as a central location for subscriber identify management on SPs' networks, enabling an extended, distributed and reliable approach to managing subscriber identities in the network. This persistent RADIUS (AAA) server session repository enables SPs to support millions of users and tens of millions of transactions daily, streamlining management, troubleshooting user issues and enforcing centralized admission control.

"We see great potential for developing an Oracle-based session repository founded on Oracle's database solution, which will serve as a central repository within SP network and will provide critical capabilities such as high availability, DRP, connectivity, operations and troubleshooting ," says Ziv Omer, manager - Oracle Excellence Center for Startups, ISVs and OEMs. "We chose ComAbility's solution to strengthen identify management in SP's networks, making it more efficient, more reliable and more adaptable to advanced SPs' needs for frequent customization and for support of a wide range of services." "Our joint solution transforms Oracle's database into an integral part of real-time network transactions," says Alon Fishman, CEO, ComAbility. "This solution demonstrates that SPs can handle 100s of millions of mission-critical transactions per day. One of the largest European cellular providers has already purchased this product for their large-scale network. Several other SPs are currently evaluating this solution.

"This is our first cooperative Oracle project and we plan to intensify this relationship in the upcoming years, as Oracle makes significant inroads into identify management for the telecom, provisioning and OSS markets." About the Oracle/OCS initiative The joint Oracle Excellence Center/OCS initiative supports Israeli startups and OEMs/ISVs. As part of the program, it contributes up to NIS250,000 to approved companies, while Oracle provides access to its extensive technological knowhow and scientific infrastructure and research; offers preferential terms for purchasing and distributing Oracle infrastructures and links up Israeli companies to Oracle representatives and leading companies worldwide.
