Tiny but tough embedded box computer introduced by Trident

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Reigate, UK, -- A new compact, but very rugged industrial PC has been introduced by Trident, offering a compact and reliable platform for gaming, digital signage and industrial automation applications.

Built in heavy duty steel, aluminium and copper, the AMOS-3000 from Trident measures just 135 x 45 x 131mm. It is constructed in five pieces: the top cover, bottom plate, front and rear I/O panels and the DOM module, and is offered with desk, wall and VESA mounting options. As a result of the cool running VIA processor technology used, and the advanced thermal design of the case, this very compact embedded box computer is entirely fanless, and has no moving parts.

The VIA AMOS-3000 is a based on the EPIA P700 Pico-ITX form factor board powered by either a 1GHz VIA C7 processor or an Ultra Low Voltage 500MHz VIA Eden processor. It supports up to 1GB of DDR2 SO-DIMM system memory. Storage is through a 44-pin IDE interface for DOM, with an optional storage sub-system expansion chassis available for a standard 2.5" SATA drive support. An onboard RJ45 connector provides Gigabit networking while the VIA VT1708A brings HD audio. WLAN networking is also available. Additional features include 4 USB 2.0 ports, on board GPIO port, COM port and a programmable watchdog timer. System LED indicators are provided for power and HDD activity.

Specifically designed for use in challenging physical environments, the VIA Technologies AMOS-3000 from Trident is rated for operation at temperatures of between -20degC to +60degC and can withstand vibration of 5Grms and shocks of up to 50G in its Flash Drive form.
