Dallas agency Mediajuice wins awards for video game ads
Jul 06, 2009 (The Dallas Morning News - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) --
Six late 20-somethings in cargo shorts and T-shirts bound together under the name Mediajuice were recently awarded the advertising world's version of the Oscar.
In June, Dallas-based entertainment advertiser and marketer Mediajuice Studios Ltd. won its first three Telly Awards, which are given for cable TV commercials and Internet video productions.
Mediajuice won for three promotional pieces for video games: its Street Fighter IV TV ad campaign and two Web-only teaser trailers, for Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Marvel vs. Capcom II .
"It was a combination of shock and excitement. We knew we had something special with all three of these," said Mediajuice Studios president and creative director Jeremy Snead. "Out of everything we have done, this is at the top of the list creatively."
In the 30th year of the award, about 10 percent of the 13,500 submissions were given Telly Awards. Snead and his team won for production excellence.
Founded in 2004, Mediajuice Studios offers video, Web, interactive and design services.
Snead said the six employees work in "creative spaces" that include comfortable, bright furniture and social lounges. He said the name Mediajuice is derived from the media his company facilitates and the "creative juices" that flow from it. He said the idea came to him while passing a Jamba Juice store one day.
