'Comstar-UTS reorganises operations in Privolzhsky district'


(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Comstar-UTS is reorganising its regional businesses in the Privolzhsky federal district (PFD), including the operations of subsidiary Stream-TV. The operator will group its businesses in PFD into the Privolzhsky macro branch as it seeks to consolidate the regional assets of Comstar-UTS Group of companies. The centre of the macroregion branch will be located in Saratov. The operator's near future plans in the PFD include the completion of the branch;s reorganisation as well as the introduction of double- and triple-play services. In PFD cities where Comstar-UTS has operations, there are over 6.5 million inhabitants and about 200,000 registered companies. At the end of Q1 2009, the subscriber base of telecom services by Comstar-UTS Group of companies in PFD included 41,000 private users, 13,000 corporate users, 494,000 pay-TV subscribers, 71,000 broadband subscribers, of which 67,000 were residential users. At present, Comstar-UTS Group provides telecommunication services in 14 cities in the PFD, namely Saratov, Engels, Balakovo, Nizhny Novgorod, Dzerzhinsk, Izhevsk, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Buzuluk, Buguruslan, Sorochinsk, Pervomaysky, Samara and Togliatti.
