Freedom of Inputs Doesn't Ensure AccuracyDUBAI, Jun 29, 2009 (Khaleej Times - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Rishi Aggarwal found maintaining an online forum to be a bit of a minefield, so he is closing down the site. Instead, he will help maintain a dedicated online ratings guide, which will have limited input from the public. "We want to control much more on the information that is presented to the public," he said. "We are not going to just publish whatever anyone says anymore." "Our initial idea was to improve customer service of companies in Dubai. But we want to produce accurate information based on research from our registered inspectors." Aggarwal spoke on condition that the old online forum would not be named, because he did not wish the new project to be associated with it. The new company will see 17 mystery shoppers visiting every business in Dubai in order to produce ratings of customer service. "We are aiming to produce a rating out of 100 for every active business in Dubai," he said. "We hope that this will encourage better customer service by companies." He said that two or three mystery shopper visits will be conducted on each business before it is given a rating. The project has been given initial approval by the Department of Economic Development, but full licensing is still pending. It is hoped to be fully launched within three months.
