VIA Technologies Gets Processor Order from Lenovo

BEIJING, Jun 04, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- VIA Technologies Inc. will sell Nano processors to Lenovo Group Limited (SEHK: 0992), the world's fourth largest PC maker, in June 2009.

Besides, Nano processors will also be sold to Tongfang Co., Ltd. (SHSE: 600100), Unisplendour Corporation Limited (UNIS), and Shanghai Spreadtone Technologies Co., Ltd. These deals will attract more customers and boost VIA Technologies' sales in the fourth quarter.

During the Computex Taipei held from June 2 to 6, 2009, VIA Technologies released its Nano processors and 3G mobile phone chips. Currently, VIA Group has three pillar businesses, namely, x86 processor, 3G chip, and processor available for the ARM framework. They are respectively operated by VIA Technologies, VIA Telecom Inc., and WonderMedia.

In February 2009, VIA Telecom got large CDMA2000 chip orders from Lenovo, Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment Co., Ltd., and Dopod Communication Corporation. Nokia Corporation (NYSE: NOK) also decided to use VIA Telecom's CDMA chips for its entry-level mobile phone Nokia-1508.
