MegaPath Hits Milestone

Jun 03, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- MegaPath, a provider of managed IP data, voice, and security services in North America, announced that in Q1 2009 its Managed SSL VPN services hit the milestones of 300,000 users, more than 3.5 billion sessions and 100 terabytes (TBs) of data transferred per month.

The company has added more than 50,000 users since Q3 2008, as businesses increasingly rely on secure and consistent connectivity options to provide employees, customers and suppliers access to critical applications anytime from anywhere.

According to a recent report from Forrester Research, more than 34 million US adults telecommute at least occasionally and it is estimated that US telecommuting ranks will be 63 million by 2016. Increased broadband adoption, better collaboration tools, and growing management experience are all contributing to this growth." There is a fundamental shift on how and where people work. Employees can now do business anywhere that has an Internet connection, but the key is to ensure that these connections are secure and reliable," said Beth Tyebjee, SVP of Marketing at MegaPath. "MegaPath's fully-managed SSL VPN service does just that. As businesses move to create flexible workforces, MegaPath is helping them attain business goals without worrying about the infrastructure or security." MegaPath said its Managed SSL VPN services give businesses the flexibility and portability of the Internet, while providing secure access for any approved remote user, from both IT-managed and non-managed devices including Windows PCs, MACs, PDAs and Linux devices. These services complement MegaPath's Remote Access and Site-to-Site MPLS VPN services, so telecommuters, road warriors, branch office employees, business partners, retail stores, restaurants and franchise owners can access applications from anywhere without compromising network security.
