[May 27, 2009] U.S. Army Awards Telos Corp. Task Order Tweet May 26, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- The U.S. Army has awarded Telos Corp. a task order to engineer, furnish, and install a wireless data capability as part of the Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP) wireless edge extension at Ft. Irwin, Calif. According to company officials, the task order was awarded through the Air Force Network-Centric Solutions (NETCENTS) contract vehicle and will be overseen by the office of Project Manager Network Service Center, Product Manager Defense Communications Systems-CONUS (PM NSC PdM DCS-C). Telos expects to complete the project by the summer at the post located in the Mojave Desert, which houses the National Training Center. "This secure solution will provide our Army customer with the capability to reach back to network resources from difficult to reach locations such as motor pool maintenance, deployment and training areas," said Winston Payne, Telos' program manager. "This indoor/outdoor wireless network will also include a mesh network and will help the Army enjoy secure network benefits similar to those already in use by their Air Force counterparts working on flight lines at bases around the world."
