'Growing number of complaints about Dutch GSM repeaters'

(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The Dutch Agentschap Telecom says the number of complaints about GSM repeaters grew significantly during the last six months. These repeaters are used to improve in-building mobile phone reach. According to an Agentschap Telecom spokesman a large number of repeaters is not installed and activated in a proper way. In some cases this leads to failures of the mobile network. Mobile operators, the owners of the frequencies, should give permission for the installation, but refuse to in most of the cases. Repeaters than are illegally installed.
