Aquantia Enables 10GE Mainstream Data Center Interconnect

LAS VEGAS --(Business Wire)-- Aquantia, the leading developer of mainstream 10GBASE-T solutions and founding member of the Ethernet Alliance®, will enable a 10 Gigabit Ethernet/1 Gigabit Ethernet Data Center Interconnect application in the Ethernet Alliance booth 527 at Interop 2009. The mainstream Data Center configuration shown in the Ethernet Alliance 10GBASE-T pod demonstrates the compelling capabilities of 10GBASE-T to perform as a ubiquitous interconnect for end-of-row and rack server to switch connectivity.

Together with other prominent Data Center switching, test and NIC providers, Aquantia has provided its industry-leading AQ1002 10GBASE-T PHY within a reference design dual-port 10GBASE-T NIC, to enable both 10GBASE-T and 1000BASE-T connectivity with Extreme Networks' Top-of-rack 24-port 10GBASE-T switch IXIA's eight-port 10GBASE-T traffic generator for performance testing Extreme Networks' Gigabit Ethernet aggregation switch Also present in the Ethernet Alliance 10GBASE-T demo is Mellanox, with its 10GBASE-T NIC card.

The full configuration running in the Ethernet Alliance booth can be viewed at http://www.ethernetalliance.org/images/10GBASE-T(2).pdf.

Last week, Aquantia announced its validation of the world's first 40nm Quad 10GBASE-T PHY. Aquantia's bold move into 40nm will deliver the critical power, density and cost performance levels long awaited by server, switch and storage equipment manufacturers for volume deployment in the data center ecosystem.

Aquantia will showcase its AQ1002 PHY at its own exhibitor booth (#2103), and be present and demonstrate the IXIA IxYukon, 8-port 10GBASE-T test solution at the IXIA booth (#1813), at Interop, May 19-21, 2009 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV.
