A.D.A.M. Creates Position of CTO

May 11, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- A.D.A.M., Inc., a provider of health information and benefits technology solutions, announced that it has created the position of Chief Technology Officer as an important next step in its strategy to further develop its national broker channel and to capture an increasing share of the growing direct-to-employer market.

The company has appointed Keith Cox as Chief Technology Officer to lead the transformation of A.D.A.M. from an application service provider to a provider of cloud-based platform solutions for small and mid-size employers.

Cox joins A.D.A.M. from Microsoft Corp., where he was Director of Global Partner Business Development in Developer & Platform Evangelism, a division of Microsoft's Server and Tools Organization where he led business development and technology strategy initiatives for Microsoft's largest global partners in healthcare. Cox will report to A.D.A.M. president and chief executive officer Kevin Noland.

"Our decision to create this position is a critical step towards moving Benergy from an application to an enterprise-class platform to drive A.D.A.M.'s long-term growth. The transition to a flexible platform will give our broker partners and employer clients access to a growing suite of integrated applications and services to achieve key goals in benefits communication and administration, financial management, wellness, and productivity," said Kevin Noland, president and chief executive officer of A.D.A.M. "To execute this strategy, it was critical to find not only the right talent to help A.D.A.M. design and execute a technology roadmap, but also an individual who can help us articulate our long-range plans to our customers and business partners." "Keith Cox brings exceptional executive leadership skill and experience to A.D.A.M. at this very exciting time for our company," continued Noland. "His unique and diverse business development experience with leading Fortune 1,000 companies, coupled with his deep technology and enterprise software development expertise, will be an invaluable asset in our technology transformation. In this strategic role, Keith will work in close partnership with the senior leadership of A.D.A.M.'s product development, marketing and sales organizations to create innovative and high-quality solutions by using world-class technology and product development systems." "A.D.A.M. has a history of innovative product development and I look forward to helping shape and direct its technology and product vision going forward," said Cox. "As employers, brokers, health plans, and health organizations all explore ways to engage consumers in proactively managing their health and reducing healthcare expenses, having state-of-the-art technology will ensure that A.D.A.M. takes full advantage of its leadership in health and benefits information services. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to A.D.A.M.'s future success." Before joining Microsoft Corp. in 2001, Cox held the position of Vice President of Software Development for Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Group. Previously, Cox was co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of JobCostOnline.com and was a co-founder of Healthcare.com. In his career, Cox held senior technology leadership and advisory positions with McKesson/HBOC, Gerber Alley/First Data Corp. and BellSouth Telecommunication's Science & Technology organization.
