Comcast Cares Day Volunteers Set Company Record for Volunteerism in New EnglandBOSTON, April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 5,500 New England Comcast employees, family members and friends spent Saturday volunteering at over 50 Comcast Cares Day sites, setting a company record for single-day volunteerism in the region. Last year, more than 4,700 volunteers participated in Comcast Cares Day projects across New England. Working on projects in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine, volunteers spent the eighth annual Comcast Cares Day landscaping, painting and working on other improvement projects for nonprofits, schools and community centers across New England. One of the largest single days of volunteerism in the country and the centerpiece of Comcast's year-round commitment to community service, Comcast Cares Day exemplifies the company's tradition of using not only its products and services, but also its local workforce to power the dreams of local communities. Nationwide, more than 50,000 Comcast volunteers participated in Comcast Cares Day, the company's annual day of service and one of the largest single-day corporate volunteer efforts in the country.
