United States: Carlisle SynTec gets $650,000 stimulus grant for 200 kW solar photovoltaic installation(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Carlisle SynTec, a leading manufacturer of single-ply roofing systems, recently received a $650,000 grant to assist in installing a 200 kilowatt solar PV system on one of its roofs in Carlisle, PA. The funds come from the ARRA, and were distributed through the Pennsylvania Energy Development Authority, a grant program within the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Carlisle will invest $650,000 in matching funds to cover the additional costs associated with the installation. The energy that the new solar PV roof creates will be supplied directly back into the local power grid. The project involves the installation and monitoring of three separate solar PV systems, each representing uniquely different technologies. All systems will be supplied by Carlisle Energy Services, a division of Carlisle SynTec that provides integrated solar roofing systems. Carlisle is delighted to receive this grant and will use these funds to create a rooftop solar photovoltaic system that showcases the wide range of technologies that are available from Carlisle Energy Services, said John Altmeyer, president of Carlisle Construction Materials, parent company of Carlisle SynTec and Carlisle Energy Services. Carlisle s project is one of the first five energy projects in Pennsylvania to receive federal stimulus dollars. Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell said he expects the five projects to create 155 jobs.
