'ADC calls for mobile services on London Underground'
(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
US wireless infrastructure provider ADC has questioned the decision by
Transport for London (TFL) to postpone the provision of mobile phone
services on the London Underground, Mobile News reported. TFL said the
implementation would be prohibitively expensive but ADC claimed that
costs should not be an barrier. ADC vice president John Spindler said
that while he understand that in the current climate carriers can be
unwilling to invest in projects of this nature, he believes carriers
should look at the bigger picture and consider the types of
opportunities -mobile advertising and location based services for
example- that this type of implementation could provide.
