Finnish Nokia to implement cost cutting affecting 1,700 jobs
(Nordic Business Report Via Acquire Media NewsEdge)
Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia Corp. (Helsinki: NOK1V) is planning to
implement cost cutting measures that will affect 1,700 jobs, the
company announced on Tuesday (17 March).
The measures will affect Nokia's Device and Media units and its
Corporate Development Office, as well as global support functions, it
added.
Nokia said it has commenced negotiations with employee representatives
about the cost cutting moves, announced earlier this year in response
to slower demand.
