BRIEF: Janesville manufacturer Hufcor Inc. cuts 100 jobs

(Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, The Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Mar. 13--Hufcor Inc., a Janesville manufacturer of folding doors, portable walls and partitions, said Friday it's eliminating 100 jobs as a result of decreasing orders and the recession.

In a Department of Workforce Development notice, Hufcor said the cuts are expected to be permanent and will occur on May 12.

The affected employees, union representatives, and local government officials have been notified of the layoffs, according to Hufcor.

The 109-year-old company's products are used in schools, office buildings, convention centers, churches and hotels.

Company officials were not available for comment or additional information.
