ComputerSite Engineering Becomes Uptime Institute Professional Services

SANTA FE, N.M. --(Business Wire)-- The Uptime Institute, Inc. today announced that ComputerSite Engineering, Inc., a data center management and engineering consulting firm, has been renamed Uptime Institute Professional Services, Inc., under the Uptime Institute brand. Both vendor-neutral organizations hold the distinction of being founded and run by industry leaders best known for developing, adjudicating, and educating the data center marketplace on resiliency, robustness, and sustainability in accordance with the Uptime Institute's official Tier Classification System.

This change is made to more accurately reflect the close working relationship between the two organizations.

Uptime Institute Professional Services was founded in 1985 as ComputerSite Engineering, a consulting company specializing in mission critical data centers. Its unique role in the industry is built on data center owners' perspectives and its consultants' unmatched in-depth experience with data center design, construction, and operation. Many significant data center industry breakthroughs were developed by Uptime Institute Professional Services and their clients, including the Tier Classification System and the impact of Operational Sustainability on data center uptime performance, investment value, energy efficiency, and resiliency. In addition to North American Fortune 500 firms, Uptime Institute Professional Services works with high-availability sites around the world.

"Data centers will need to be more reliable and resilient than ever before as a result of continuously increasing demands and dependency on organizations' IT infrastructures," says Kenneth G. Brill, Executive Director and founder of the Uptime Institute. "The Uptime Institute Professional Services' team of former data center operators offers unmatched real-world knowledge, project experience, and proven results that data center designers and builders typically do not have and data center owners cannot afford to go without." Uptime Institute Professional Services retains its vendor-neutral status, without allegiance to a specific manufacturer or Engineer-of-Record. Uptime Institute Professional Services will continue to offer the Owner's Representative consulting services and site infrastructure and staffing assessments previously delivered as ComputerSite Engineering. All consulting services will continue to draw upon the world's largest abnormal incident and best practice databases, managed by the Uptime Institute. Uptime Institute Professional Services is the team that authored the Tier Classification System and is the only firm authorized to conduct Certification reviews of designs and sites for compliance to that standard.

ComputerSite Engineering's industry-leading consultants and Tier Certification Authorities will be fully transitioned to the new brand. All consulting and Tier Certifications previously delivered as ComputerSite Engineering will continue to be unequivocally recognized by the Uptime Institute.
