GlobeCast Implements Ateme Kyrion EncodersFeb 25, 2009 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Ateme, a provider of MPEG-4/H.264 video compression technology, has announced that content management and delivery company GlobeCast has chosen its Kyrion encoders for deployment of next generation contribution networks. Ateme's Kyrion video encoders are designed for a wide variety of live broadcast and contribution applications including production dailies, sports and news gathering. Based on Ateme's bandwidth efficient H.264 compliant codec, the company said that Kyrion encoders can deliver high quality standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD) video streams for broadcast contribution over IP networks at low bit rates. GlobeCast's contribution services include adhoc and permanent services enabling broadcasters and content owners to exchange live and off-line audiovisual content easily and in the most cost effective way possible. GlobeCast is building the next generation of contribution networks by taking advantage of IP protocol and the latest MPEG4/H264 compression technology.
