Asterisk®-based PBX Solutions’ Load Test Results Published by XorcomXorcom, a privately-held manufacturer of business telephony interfaces and appliances based on Asterisk (News - Alert) open-source software, has just published load test results for two of its Asterisk-based IP-PBX telephony systems, the XR1000 for Small Office / Home Office (SOHO) and the XR2000 for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME). These results provide factual evidence of the capacity of each IP-PBX (News - Alert) to handle telephony traffic with various codecs and echo cancellation tail sizes. The results are available as downloadable PDF files from the Xorcom Web site: http://www.xorcom.com/faqs/xorcom-ip-pbx.html. Results Provide Detailed Information Load tests were performed for two different IP-PBX appliances: the Xorcom (News - Alert) XR1000 SOHO IP PBX, and the XR2000 IP PBX for the SMB range. For both systems, detailed information is provided about the testing environment and the call capacity. In the published results, the criterion for the number of maximum simultaneous calls is the number of calls when the CPU consumption is less than 60% (with some fluctuations that may reach up to 70-80%). XPP Technology by Xorcom Xorcom has developed a revolutionary concept in telephony interfaces for Asterisk systems called XPP technology. Using USB 2.0 ports to connect to any Asterisk server, XPP technology eliminates the requirement for a PCI (E1/T1) card, and even for PCI slots. The USB architecture embodied in XPP technology affords many advantages, including the ability to build large systems that support hundreds of analog extensions, rapid set-up and easy maintenance. The new TwinStar dual server failover solution (see live demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSFCm8IfCBE&feature=channel_page) is yet another product of this unique technology. Asterisk Appliances – Xorcom PBX Line The Xorcom IP-PBX is a stand-alone appliance that runs Asterisk and Astribank VoIP telephony interfaces on a standard 19" 1U or 2U rack-mountable chassis. Three Astribank IP-PBX models are available to address various capacity requirements, from small systems up to 1,000 users. All Xorcom Asterisk appliances feature easy-to-use, reliable, high-bandwidth and high-density USB 2 technology and support all the main analog and digital telephony interfaces, including FXS, FXO, E1/T1 PRI, E1 R2 and BRI. The XR1000 is housed in a standard 19” 1U wall- or rack-mountable chassis and supports up to 16 analog phone ports, up to 50 users and up to 12 concurrent calls. The XR2000 is housed in a standard 19” 2U rack-mountable chassis and supports up to 160 PSTN / Analog phones ports with external Astribank units, up to 300 users and up to 60 concurrent calls.
