Standard & Poor's Announces Change to U.S. Index


NEW YORK, Feb 19, 2009 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Syniverse Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SVR) will replace Advanced Medical Optics Inc. (NYSE: EYE) in the S&P MidCap 400 after the close of trading on a date to be announced. Advanced Medical Optics is being acquired by S&P 100 and 500 constituent Abbott Laboratories (NYSE: ABT) in a cash tender offer that is still pending final approvals.

Syniverse Holdings is an enabler of wireless voice and data services for telecommunications companies. Headquartered in Tampa, FL, the company will be added to the S&P MidCap 400 GICS (Global Industry Classification Standard) Wireless Telecommunication Services Sub-Industry index.
